I'm trying to install IRIX 5.2 from the original CD on my Indy and I get this error every time.
The SCSI CD-ROM is actually a Pioneer DVD-ROM drive with a SCSI interface. But at least it's working OK with my Octane.
The Indy detects it without problems. I tried it in different combinations with and without an active terminator.
Also tried to install the system on a BlueSCSI SD card and on a real 4Gb SCSI disk. No difference. Gives the same error every time.
I tried different RAM modules. Tried different CDs. Even tried to start installation without a CD in the drive. Same thing.
Maybe there's some documentation on this specific error that might help? Or should I just look for another CD-ROM drive?
Also, is there any other way to install a system on an Indy without an external CD-ROM drive?
