I noticed all the USA addresses on my wonderful SGI hardware and decided to start looking them up. Looks like Google bought all SGI's old buildings in the Valley. Some were designed by famous architects. Honestly, I'd rather they burn down than see Google (the censorship company) own them. It's sad but it's interesting.

Also, I heard a rumor that SGI briefly had offices in the Dallas Infomart (the Crystal Palace copy). Does anyone know if that's true and any of the details.

The former HQ was the large building that is now the GooglePlex, they moved to the Computer History space afterwards.

One of my coworkers that used to work at SGI also worked on GLASS at Google X and told me he did sit in one Googleplex buildings 20 feet from where he used to sit when he worked at SGI.

I swear I remember seeing an SGI sales office in the Dallas Infomart at some point, but there are zero records of that which I can find. Maybe it was something temporary for a convention or something.

I'm sad the "Googleplex" took over SGI's old haunt. I guess it's better than an insurance company or bank taking it over, but only marginally.
