Hi,

just wanted to tell you about svgalib (http://www.svgalib.org), I'm working on its NetBSD drivers. Can be used on SGI Linux but needs graphic card options.

TBH, my patches are in the NetBSD wip package tree and I will try to support intel HD and, if possible (non-windowed) SGI Linux/IRIX terminals.

See https://pkgsrc.se/wip/svgalib for the NetBSD (though unpatched) package.

Of course an SGI (sgimips) runs NetBSD.

Neat! svgalib is useful!

I've been working on some emulators to bring to IRIX. Are you interested in potentially helping out with that? DM me if so.

I am working on the 64 bit (video card) version of SVGALib (NetBSD pkgsrc : svgalib64). I am overloaded on work on that and other things, but yes I'll help you as far as I can.

Note that you need a license on the SGI video cards before you can post code for it. svgalib64 can be extended at will though (thanks to IBM and SGI).

Pretty sure Abuse and some versions of Doom & Quake have SVGALib targets. So, yeah, it'd be a nice one to have.
