I did it and it worked out of the box. Several months ago I bought a used OSSC and never found time to test it. As I had to reorganize my desk, I gave it a try and it worked. I am that happy🤩
So I can switch to reset forgotten root pw, optimize resolution settings, add KVM switch and repeat all this with my Octane. BR to all enthusiasts outside especially @flexion and @mapesdhs

Next step: I tried a KVM Console Switch HP EO1013 / 396630-001 + 8-Port RJ45 19-Zoll Rack 1HE bought from Kleinanzeigen. De. It is not possible to get an output from my Indy to the Ossc/SONY TV. I see either the OSD of the HP , using RGBHV or OSSC says, there is no sync, if I try RGSB, which works without HP switch. Any hints? The HP unfortunately does not look to me like offering switching Sync signals.
Stay healthy

Next chapter: I also powered up my octane and this beauty behaves completely the same way. No SGI output using the HP, no matter the mode of the OSSC. I also figured that if I touch the DB13W3 connector my Octane switched to Video output like SOG looks on incompatible monitors…. I have no clue what is wrong there, cause screws are tightened.

Side note: Octane plus OSSC gives in RGBHV mode at least greenish video output.
Any hints? BR

So going further… using my Indy without kvm switch I figured out something special. For some people like @flexion I suggest to grab some popcorn. Since several years there is an on and off with my boxes and I mixed it a little bit up in the end. Today I played with permission tool under guest account and the tool told me that there is no root password🤪 So at least this is fine. Problem right now is that if I try to change into root, I only get blank beautiful blue screen and the red x mouse cursor. So any hints what is going on now? Do I need root password to use root login? Or something different? Thx
