I thought it'd be a good idea to put all known manuals and tutorials in one place.
The goal is to make learning process more accessible for those who wants to play with these archaic 3D apps.
Feel free to add what's missing.

And just for quick reference here's Alias3 and Wavefront TAV4 model menus:

Adding SoftImage 3D v2.66 (the version supposedly used by IL&M during Jurassic Park post-production) or v2.66c (patched, more stable) would be really wonderful. Also Matador from Parallax, and Viewpaint (this one really hard to find....).

I guess if you're familiar with Photoshop, you can definitely figure out Matador on your own. As well as VizPaint and other 2d apps. ViewPaint was a proprietary ILM app based on Matador. They added ability to paint over 3D models in it. It was never available to the public, as far as I know.

For SI you can use available manuals and there's plenty of tutorials on YouTube for older versions. The principles and instruments are the same, just apply the knowledge to the 2.66, It must work.

I agree that early Photoshop versions can be similar to Matador in a certain way, although they certainly are not the same.
For SI I suppose I could try 3.0 or 4.0, they are very similar to 2.66 ver.
