Dear all,

after my first "trials" with an 128MB O2 (R5K) and 6.5.30 i found out that there is nothing better than having more RAM :)

At the same time I think that I may have to do the next step if I shall ever want to see a "fluid" demo and watching James Bond on an SGI. Maybe some within Germany/EU is considering selling his Octane/2.

Cheers

Iggi

O2 is a bit limited when it comes to 3D as most calculations are done by the CPU, so higher cpu speeds will improve 3D performance. I’d pretty much advise an R10/12k O2 these days for any gfx sanity + 256mb ram as a minimum. An Octane with Vpro will do very nicely indeed. Also, Octane ram is more readily obtainable than O2 ram.
