Hi all :)

So I've got quite a bit of SGI kit for sale...

Octanes
Indys
Indigo2
Onyx racks (ir & re), stone+wire arrays, Sirius video, etc
Monitors
Keyboards, mice, cams and cables.

Located norwich. I've had for a while from storage unit clearance and have got quite a bit of it working but other commitments have got in the way somewhat.

Currently I've 2 indys, octane and indigo2 running irix. 2 working gdm-20d11 monitors etc. The onyx's power up and pass CPU checks but had issue with graphics subsystem... a tiny tantilum popped on one of the ir boards. This has since been repaired but I've not had chance to test it out yet.

It would be good to get some of this moving. I may consider offers on job lot as is but will be working to get the onyxs going. This may be beyond my ability so maybe better to do with assistance from interested party etc.

Feel free to PM me for phone number!

Octanes:
1 - working VGC plastics with sled:
Dual R10000 250MHz IP30
SI graphics
256MB
72GB SCSI HP Atlas HDD with irix 6.5

20211130_123143.jpg

2 - Faulty PSU reasonable plastics no hdd:
R10000 195 MHz with FPU
ESI graphics with texture option
256MB RAM

The plastics are generally in good condition but there is some damage to top of door panel that has been repaired with plastic epoxy filler but not painted.
When connecting psu to power the ststem instantly powers on and psu fan starts but system does not appear to power up and no video output is displayed.
Using the other PSU the system boots to PROM and passes diagnostics.
When booting Irix with system disc from other octane it passes network initialisation and whatnot but irix fails just before logon screen with error shown below.

Hi,

The only sirius video interface card I have is for onyx but have the breakout box also (ideally I'd keep this lot together).

There are a number of cams though... will test them all out and get back to you.

Will the Sirius video interface card work on an Onyx2? If so, I would be interested.

Hi indigofan,

Sorry I'm not sure but would have thought probably not. Surely the bus was updated?

Also it would be good to keep system complete as is ideally. It was flame vfx setup with scsi frame stores and all that. I believe it was used for video production for some pretty cool nineties music videos and adverts by Chris Cunningham so it might be a shame to break it up!

Yep I think so ;) I imaged all hard drives that I could from flame store and system. Most of the system discs had failed but I managed to read full or partial images from sime of them.
I dont really have software but found text files with title credits from windowlicker come to daddy rubber johnny etc as well as bjork - all is full of love and some Nissan adverts on one of the system discs!

About 85% of the 36 flame store discs work and have been imaged but I'm not sure if anything intelligible can be pulled from this.... they're in some propriety format and I believe these were used for storing raw frame data or something. Its all a bit beyond my ability tbh!!!
