I picked up a SGI CRT w/ 13w3 input, would a SUN video cable be compatible? Can't seem to find any SGI 13w3 M-M video cables around.

I would think that if all the pins are wired straight through, it should be fine? I don't know that they are, but one would hope...

SGI and SUN 13W3 cable are wired differently, I found this out when I first got my V880z and tried to link it up to one of my monitors using an SGI 13W3 cable. I had to order a SUN 13W3 to DVI cable to get it to work!

Was that a monitor with a regular HD15 or DVI input though? I think in this case they are talking about 13W3 to 13W3 cables, to connect a computer to a monitor that has a 13W3 input.

Definitely the 13W3 to VGA cables are different.

The cable that I bought for the V880z is a 13W3 to analog DVI, so there's no digital signal involved.

The only cable that SunFire systems, the company that I bought my system from could offer me was a SUN 13W3 to DVI, so I made use of a DVI to VGA converter, to connect it to the VGA input on my monitor.

A straight 13W3 to 13W3 should work in my opinion.
