Hey All -

Longtime fan of SGI, and earlier this year I got the go-ahead from the wife to start collecting, so I now have three in my possession, an Indy, an O2 and an Indigo2.

The latest was the Indigo2 which was a bit of gamble - bought on ebay with no specs, turns out the only wrong was a crashed hdd. So I put a scsi2sd V6 in it, and everything seems ok, but when it boots, I get SCSI timeouts from devices 1-7. The SCSI2SD is the only thing in the system and the SD card is on device 1.

I managed to get IRIX installed, and everything works, but it takes about 15m to boot due to all the timeouts. Just wondering what I can do to fix that. I have no experience with SCSI devices, so I'm at a loss for what to try.

In my experience, the guy that makes the scsi2sd ( aperez@inertial.biz ) is responsive and nice. He'll help you out with this (but on your part, make sure you bought a real scsi2sd and not some knock-off).

Yeah I got the real deal. Good idea. I'll reach out.

When I get a bit more time, I'll also see what it does with no drives at all in the system and update this thread.

I found my I2i works nicely with a SCA SCSI drive, that and adapters for the I2I sled are about $40 total on ebay.

Other than that - did you test partity and no parity, and termination on the SCS2SD?
