Programs that used the Galileo Video board?

Hello,

Does anyone knows what programs used Galileo video natively? Talking about the teal Indigo 2 version, not Impact or Iris Indigo version.

The brochure mentions wipes and other transitions, but was it for real? Really interested in putting together an Extreme Graphics set with Galileo board and the VBOB on a Teal Indigo 2.

Also, what did the Cosmo Compression board added to the mix? Doesn't the Galileo digitize SD video to files? Or is it just a still frame digitizer?

I had one back in the day and used it for work.... All the built in apps work with the cosmo compress board, so video capture and output, you just need to select it as the source in the videp control panel. I had even written shell scripts for capture and playback.

Interesting, what is the job of the Galileo board as a stand alone option?

The board brought support of broadcast video standards from back in the day as the standard video cards could not handle full motion / full screen video. There was also a board for the Indy that did the same thing. Coupled with the Cosmo Compress board it could do real-time encoding and decoding of Motion JPEG video, which saved disk space.
