Old footage of Softimage 3D & Eddie

Stumbled across this old YouTube video showing an animator creating a short film using an Indy running Soft|3D, Eddie, and an Amiga 3000. There isn't a lot of footage of Eddie out there - other than brief shots of it in Def Leppard's "Let's Get Rocked"

Very nice; funny how people say that the Indy is basically useless, but people were clearly paying a premium to use them for real work back when they were new

That's a rad short! The Indy was definitely a great machine in its time, people just expect 21st-century fast now.

Here a video I'd made few months ago for a weekly youtube podcast that I made with my retro friends . First I'm talk about softimage history and later I make a small demo modeling an scorpion like in the mpeg video of softimage CD. At the end I show interface of Eddie.
For the live I use an Indy 24 bits with softimage 3.7sp1 with Irix 5.3 and 96 Mb ram.
Sorry, audio are in spanish but sure you can enjoy viewing the modeling demo.

Here another video showing how to animate with multiped the object of scorpion I'd modeler in the previous video. For this video I'd use Indy 100 Mhz with 8 bits graphics card , 64 Mb ram and Irix 5.3.
