I’m new here and just wanted to say hi. I’ve never owned SGI hardware myself, but back in the 90s I used to telnet to a friend’s IRIX system in order to have access to a UNIX environment. I spent so much time on there! I don’t quite remember what machine it was, but I’m 95% certain it was an Indy.

I did own a couple of Suns later on: a SPARCclassic and a SLC. I also miss my Macintosh SE/30 on which I ran A/UX!

I was recently reminiscing about those days so I signed up here hoping to eventually find something to play with IRIX on again and learn more about it… especially since I only ever used a SGI from the command line!
