Just joined, upcoming Fuel owner. Looks like a great forum. I'm located in Sammamish WA, a suburb of Seattle. I'm originally Canadian, and enjoy the unique industrial designs of the sgi systems I've seen. Cheers!

Brian.

Yo codepoet!
I'm also in Seattle (I'm in south Seattle, very near SeaTac Airport).

I work on SGI Fuel Mainboards (among a few other services) detailed here: https://forums.irixnet.org/thread-3207.html

If you end up with environmental monitoring disease or other Fuel issues, don't hesitate to contact me to see if I can help. I normally run through IrixNet. Fuels are very delicate. I also have several perfect match 700W ATX PSUs that fit into Fuel using OEM screws and parts and the Kuba ATX Fuel PSU Adapters for sale should you need a PSU replacement. I've also replaced fan broken headers and some VRM sections before. I cannot promise everything, but I here to help on Fuels and SGIs stations in general.

Hopefully everything works out for you but it's not unusual for fuels to have problems. If for whatever reason your system is acting up or fails to respond at all when you receive it, I'd be willing to do evaluation services due to the fact that we don't have to ship between each other. Given you're in Sammamish I could also drive over a power supply if you're completely dead to see what the basic system claims is going on. I cannot perform chip replacement soldering services on site as there's too much specialty equipment required to transfer. But I could do a number of things on site initially if you need to to establish a basic health check on the board/system.

My first SGI Fuel was actually a well documented basket case with a multitude of problems that I had to solve. It's all fixed now and a fun read: https://forums.irixnet.org/thread-3185.html

Awesome, nice to meet you!

What I'm most desperate for is a way to hook up my 1600sw monitor to either the O2 or Fuel that I just got...

I managed to find an expensive O2 1600SW adapter, and a 3DLabs Oxygen PCI card with 1600SW support as well, and ordered both from Ian in UK. Kinda crazy and silly, but hey!
Now, i wonder if anyone has ever stuck this PCI graphics card in a Fuel and used it :D

Hi @codepoet and @weblacky, I live in Seattle as well and just picked up a Indigo and an Indigo2. When I was a kid in the '90s I wanted an SGI, but at that time they were far outside of what I could afford, so now many years later I picked up a couple! Both are semi-working, they power up but the hard drives have failed, and the Indigo needs the PRAM battery replaced so it can get past the low battery warning screen. And of course I need a monitor that will work with them. Getting them all dialed in will be my grey-weather winter project.
