Just for the records: If you ever encounter SCSI timeouts, followed by "General Exception" error and your system stops like this while initializing:
..then replace the yellow snaphat timekeeper battery (M4T28-BR12SH1) on the I/O controller, reboot twice (first time it may still complain without recognizing disks, second run will be fine).
