COM Ports and Silicon Graphics ?

Hello,
Will blame my ignorance now on old age.
Great excuse.

On the pc I just had to junk, in Device Manager, and I think under Ports, I had 2 Silicon Graphics items.
I believe I put them there many, many years ago.

I think, but am not sure, that they allowed COM Port communications.
Right ? If not, what were they for ?

Have a brand new Windows pc.
Lots of COM Port "problems"
Should I download the above again ?

Could you, please, provide a link to the download for ? Using W11
